Comfort Food

I love so many different types of food. From Italian to Mexican food I love eating it all but my comfort food would have to be Italian food . I am almost one hundred percent Italian and that was the main food I was raised to eat growing up. At all family dinners there would be an endless amount of Italian foods. From spaghetti and meatballs to chicken Parmesan all of these food give me a home safe feeling.

Ever since was little we would have huge family dinners. At family dinners there is always  too much food, no one goes home hungry and there are usually plenty of  leftovers. There are always so many different entrees to eat. I believe Italian food is my comfort food because I enjoy and love all the different entrees given to me to eat. Family dinners happen quite often so I am always eating Italian food. Besides at family dinner at home many Italian meals are also cooked frequently.

I feel that my comfort food stays the same all the time. I eat different food all the times too but Italian food is defiantly my top choice. Homemade Italian food is my favorite and I do eat it most often. I'm sure my comfort food can be high in calories and fattening but I still love it. Italian food is my comfort food because I was raised to eat it. Not only is it delicious but I also got to spend time with my family while eating it and it is always a good comfortable time.

These Italian dishes that I love to eat so much never get old. There are so many different types of choices in the Italian food category I probably haven't even tried them all. When I eat these foods I feel that it defines my culture by explaining a little bit more of who I am. I eat big dinners with my family and it is always nice to share the experience with other people like friends to see if they feel the same way about my comfort food or to learn more about theres. I can never go wrong with homemade Italian food. When I'm stressed or just starving it always allows me to be comfortable.

As well as the holidays for example like Thanksgiving, turkey for dinner is what we eat but besides that we always have some pasta meal as a course before the big dinner. This would have to be my comfort food not only because it is what I was raised to eat, I love it and we even made it a part of our family holiday tradition. Italian food will always be my favorite cultural food and when I am older it will defiantly pass it down to my family and keep the tradition going

Arguments vs discourse

Personally I hate arguing but somehow there is always arguing whether it is with my group of friends of my mother. I think it is pointless and the fact that the Greeks used to stand in public areas and do it for fun makes no sense to me. Unless there is a logic reason to argue over lies or known facts I think it is dumb. I argue all the time with poeple but it is never worth it. There are disagreements a lot and I am pretty sure that is what causes the arguing. Espically when I know I am right and someone tries to prove me wrong somehow that always turns into an argument.

If one person loves the president and another hates the him I would not say that they are enemies. I would classify it as they just have different opinions on the topic. Them argueing might happen because of their differences but I do not think that they are enemies. It seems that when they are arguing over different opinions they get so mad because they always think they are right. I know when I think or know I am right and someone tries to prove me wrong in an argument it makes me mad. It is just a natural reaction to get tense and mad when you feel your opinion is the better one.

When an argument is debated I feel that sometimes the point is always not getting acrossed or the other person is not even listening to what you are saying. When that happens and i get ignored or talked over I know that makes me mad. Usually when people do not get the last word in or their best opinion in it can cause future arguments or people walking away unhappy and I believe that is why people in this case walk away steaming.

There is different types of ways to settle disputes but as for rules I do not believe they would work in an argument. Each side thinks they are right and are gonna do their best to prove the other person wrong. Even though I do not think rules should work I think they would be a really good idea. I know in past arguments I havent gotten everything in that I have needed to say and it makes me mad. A rule that I feel would be a perfect one would be to let everyone have a chance to talk and not get intreupting. You never know maybe you think you are 100 percent right but then you took the chance to listen to another person and realized that maybe they had a good point.

Overall I think arguing is really stupid and it stinks that it is a big part in lifetime. You live and learn and thoose little arguments now in high school might only get worse. I have learned over the years to keep to myself now and I try my best. There is still going to me numerous arguments but i try my best to stay out of them.

Too Much Homework!

Homework is not something many kids like to do. Personally I do not either, but it is something that you have to do to do well in your class. Even though I do not like doing it I feel that it does help me out in my  classes a lot. For example in my marine bio class we have a list of assigments to do sometimes in class and for homework on each chapter we do. These assigments include revies outlines and study questions which help me memorize what I am learning about from writing it multiple times. In my math class we also get homework every night. Once a day we learn a new lesson and recieve homework on it, because I do not li,ke homework i look at it as practice.

I feel that I get a lot of homework but it is not too much. It is my senior year and I think it is better to be prepared doing more work being that I am going to college next year because I know I am not going to get babied through my work in college. I do not have an exact time every night that it takes me to do my homework but usually per night I have at least thirty minutes worth. Sometimes doing my homework winds up taking an hour or so but I am always learning something or practicing while doing it. I feel that if a student is staying up untill midnight to finish their homework that they maybe are not planning their time well. I understand that most kids have a job at my age now but there should always be time right after school or right after work. Kids in highschool should not be working past ten at night anyways on school nights.

Usually on weekends I do not partiucally have assigned homework. If i have homework on weekends it is something that was assigned during the week and due the following week or Sunday night which is not always bad at times. I like having more time to do bigger tasks and sometimes I use my weekends up finishing projects or writing that last essay I need. Every year since kindergarten I have had some time of homework given through me through out the week. From my elementary days to now in high school obviously work has gotten harder. From my freshman to senior year I have seen a change in homework, this year I get a heck of a lot more which I hope is just preparing me more for the college real world.

I can say I definatily have learned form doing homework. It is more of a practice and it is always nice to go over it the next morning in class being able to see your mistakes and learning to do it the right way after all practice makes perfect. I do not like to wait untill the last minute to do my homework but however it does happen sometimes. When i don't get a chance to do it I feel like I am in a rush and not doing the best I can in my assignment. I do not feel like there is too much homework, I think it is just the students being lazy.

President

If I had to pick one family member for public office as a president I would pick my uncle Larry. He is a very smart man and knows a lot about the history of our world. He is now in his 60’s so he has experienced a lot. He did not attend college however it didn’t seem as important as it is now a days especially for future life time careers. When he was little he took care of his siblings so he has some back round being able to work with others. His first job where as taking off those items for example sugar off of ships. He did that for many years. His brother unfortunately that he was very close with had died in the army but he had taught him so much about the army and he always tells me stories.

I choose him for office because he knows a lot bout our country and is always committed to get the job done when he receives a task. He does not like just sitting around either so he would always do something productive for us like set up meetings for various things , prevent us from going to war the best as possible even though that’s something that might never happen, and try to get every one involved and make our world a better place to live in.

Economically I think he would try to help out too. With everyone loosing their jobs therefore putting them in debt is a very depressing thing too see. I could see him helping a lot of those people out by maybe allowing them to work in his office. He also knows many people in different places so he could always talk to them and help some people out with jobs after all when you know some body you usually have an in with a job which I have experienced already.

Also another big thing I think he would do is fight to keep the age at 18 for allowing teens to go to war. If that is something you want to do then that should be your choice. This is not an everyday issue but I believe it is going to come up soon enough in our society and the president is going to have to have a say or do something about it. I defiantly would see him making in big in our country as a president because I feel like he has all of the qualities you would need as a president. He is not lazy has good interpersonal skills and would be very devoted to our country. He would not single any body out and he would do his best to help everybody in different ways even those in Africa that are starving, sick or even in the need of parents. I believe my uncle would be a great president.
